Homewood born and raised — I hadn’t been to Gianmarco’s in quite a while, but our server John reminded me why I’ve always loved dining here. It was a phenomenal experience that truly felt like having an amazing meal and conversation at home. Much appreciation, John — we’ll be back much sooner next time!

Gianmarco’s in Homewood is an absolute gem. When I lived in Birmingham, it was always one of my favorite spots, and now I make it a point to come back every time I’m in town. I always order the seafood fra diavolo — it’s not on the menu, but it’s an incredible pasta dish that never disappoints.
On my most recent visit, my family joined me for dinner, and the service was impeccable. Even though the restaurant was packed (as it always is, thanks to its well-earned popularity), our server was attentive, friendly, and made us feel well taken care of. To top it off, they surprised us with complimentary desserts — the special lemon cake, tiramisu, and bombolini — all of which were phenomenal. The wine and cocktail selection is also outstanding, making the whole dining experience truly special.
If you’re anywhere near Birmingham, Gianmarco’s is a must-visit.

Outstanding meal! Would definitely go again and sooner than my last visit. Our party of 6 ate most of everything we were served. Started off with Arancini, Carpaccio, mushroom ravioli, and fiocchi ( this was my favorite). Specialty bar drinks were tasty as was the wine. Our entrees consisted of the scallops, fish, and veal scallopini. All delicious!! Desserts were sorbet/gelato, Tartufo, torte, and Bombolini. Hands down the best meal in town. Don’t wait!!

Highly recomend. Went on a date and the atmosphere was perfect! Intimate but vibrant. The food was so delicious never had steak that tender. Crab claws appetizer was delicious as well as the Seafood Rissoto. Will definitely be back!

Our first visit. We easily found parking on the street and chose the wine bar dining area in the back (reservations not required). We received a friendly greeting and were seated immediately. Our server was excellent and explained all the specials in detail. The atmosphere was great. It felt like we were in a cabin/chalet. It got a little loud, as the room filled up, but we had an enjoyable evening. We will return and hope to snag one of the outdoor tables on a warmer evening.

I’ve been dining at Gianmarco’s since they opened in 2003, and I’ve enjoyed every single dining experience there. Portion sizes are generous, the pasta and sauces always taste fresh and cooked to perfection, and the daily dinner specials provide just the right amount of variety to keep the menu interesting and exciting.
Gianmarco’s offers a full bar service and an impressive wine selection as well.
The restaurant space is rather cozy with a view of the open kitchen which adds an interesting element to the ambiance reminiscent of the old Hot & Hot Fish Club. Of course, this does raise the ambient noise level a bit which might affect patrons with hearing disabilities.
The service is always perfect with seasoned, attentive and friendly wait staff. Also, the front of house manager visits every table to ensure customer satisfaction in all elements of the dining experience.
I highly recommend Gianmarco’s in Homewood. Do make reservations several weeks in advance for the best seating times.

I got the mushroom ravioli and my wife got the 4-cheese pasta and both were absolutely incredible. The portions are very generous and the atmosphere is great. My only complaint was our server seemed a bit flippant with our presence. My wife made the comment that maybe we weren’t spending enough money for her to care since we didn’t get bottles of wine or any alcohol from the bar.

Service was excellent and the food was incredible! We were in the whine cellar (behind the building) wonderful atmosphere. Couldn’t give this place enough stars if I wanted too. (Drinks in photos were already indulged in )
